Job Description

The General Manager role is integral to the successful operation of a retail store, with a primary focus on executing the store operations playbook to meet and exceed defined business objectives. This position is pivotal to the company’s success, influencing both revenue generation and market expansion. The General Manager ensures that market representation and customer relationship quality are maintained at the highest standards, adhering closely to company policies, processes, and procedures. This opportunity invites a motivated leader to take charge of all facets of store operations, including consumer sales, commercial sales, and service functions. With a hands-on supervisory approach, the General Manager guides the team to synchronize their efforts with the regional strategy provided by Regional Sales and Service Managers, ensuring that all messaging and objectives are consistent throughout the organization.

The ability to identify local market opportunities and partner with corporate resources to implement localized marketing efforts is crucial for business growth in the chosen territory. Staffing is also a significant component of the role, as the General Manager collaborates with the Human Resources department to recruit, retain, and develop a highly qualified team. Team performance management is a continuous process, with the General Manager offering coaching and mentorship to foster growth and effectiveness in every role within the store.

Customer service excellence is a cornerstone of this position, where the General Manager upholds high standards of courteous and professional conduct, guaranteeing complete customer satisfaction. To cultivate a learning-focused environment, the General Manager actively participates in company training programs and promotes ongoing education among staff. Responsibilities extend to sales promotion of all company products and services, with an emphasis on leveraging all personnel across multiple locations to maximize results. The role also involves managing incoming business leads efficiently to achieve targeted show rates and solution conversion goals.

Forecasting sales and gross profit with precision is key, often in collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager through analytical tools like the GM Scorecard. Inventory management is a shared duty, working alongside inventory and service teams to balance stock levels, optimize technician efficiency, and manage billable hours. A focus on customer experience is maintained by aspiring to achieve Net Promoter Score (NPS) results that meet or exceed corporate averages through a dedicated Solution Experience process. Finally, the General Manager champions employee engagement by exemplifying leadership aligned with the company’s core values, fostering a positive and productive work culture. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Supervise all facets of the store's operations including consumer sales commercial sales and service operations
  • Support the overall company objectives and ensure consistent messaging in alignment with Regional Sales and Service Managers to the store staff
  • Provide store performance reports as required utilizing Key Performance Indicators as outlined in Rhythm
  • Identify local market opportunities and utilize corporate support to enhance business through localized marketing efforts
  • Collaborate with the HR Department to recruit and retain qualified candidates to meet the store's staffing requirements
  • Effectively manage team performance and provide coaching and mentorship to enhance effectiveness in each role
  • Uphold customer treatment standards characterized by courteous and professional conduct fostering complete customer satisfaction
  • Promote a culture of training by participating in company training initiatives and fostering continuous learning
  • Oversee and promote the sale of all company products and services across all company locations involving all personnel
  • Manage incoming leads generated by the Business Development Center to meet show rate and solution rate goals
  • Accurately forecast unit sales and gross profit levels
  • Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to review the GM Scorecard and identify focus areas
  • Manage and maintain vehicle inventory in collaboration with the Inventory team
  • Partner with the Service Manager to oversee service operations including technician efficiency and overall billable hours
  • Aim to achieve NPS results at or above the overall corporate average through our Solution Experience process
  • Foster Employee Engagement by demonstrating leadership skills in support of our core values
