The Sales Manager position at Four Points by Sheraton Bakersfield is a pivotal role responsible for driving the hotel’s revenue and market share goals through effective solicitation and securing of new accounts. This role collaborates closely with the Director of Sales to meet assigned sales and revenue targets, ensuring the overall performance of the hotel aligns with corporate objectives. The Sales Manager is expected to engage with diverse market segments including Leisure, Business Travel, Group, and SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal) sectors, tailoring the sales approach according to property needs. As a management-level position, the Sales Manager commits the necessary time each workday to fulfill all job responsibilities, with proper overtime compensation applicable for certain associate categories.

This role requires exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, and necessitates proficiency in negotiation and sales techniques including opening, probing, supporting, and closing deals. The ideal candidate should excel in independently managing multiple tasks simultaneously, possessing strong organizational and presentation skills. Job Requirements

  • must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state

Job Duties

  • effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals as well as solicitation call goals
  • proactively conduct solicitation calls conduct sales tours and entertain clients specific to leisure SMERF business travel and/or groups as applicable by property
  • grow existing relationships with assigned accounts specific to leisure SMERF business travel and/or groups as applicable by property
  • monitor and evaluate trends within your market segment
  • approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service-oriented manner
  • adhere to aimbridge hospitality’s established regulations company standards sales standards and sales metrics related
  • develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel and applicable departments
  • maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations as applicable
  • assist in implementing and/or participating in special promotions relating to direct sales segments such as sales blitzes
  • attend daily weekly monthly meetings and any other functions required by management
  • perform any other duties as requested by the general manager or director of sales
  • access to back of house areas of the hotel and sensitive information
  • interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues
  • access and control to sensitive areas in the hotel premises including the hotel safe master keys and/or guestrooms storage/liquor room and secured file cabinets
  • drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons
  • maintain a high level of trust and responsibility
  • represent the company with certain level of reputation and good character as well as exercise sound judgement
