Job Requirements

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university
  • two years' experience in sales and marketing or related field
  • knowledge of guest room forecasting and attrition
  • strong customer development and relationship management skills
  • knowledge of group, extended stay and transient business
  • understanding of revenue management functions
  • strong strategic planning skills
  • excellent communication abilities
  • proven negotiation skills
  • ability to work independently and take initiative

  • proficiency in sales tools and software

Job Qualifications

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • two years' experience in sales and marketing or related professional area
  • knowledge of guest room forecasting and attrition

Job Duties

  • Responds to incoming group/catering opportunities for the hotel
  • proactively identifies, qualifies and solicits new group/catering business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals
  • understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
  • closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs
  • uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts
  • builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings
  • effectively develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities
