We are currently seeking a Senior Sales Manager to join our thriving team. This key role involves representing the property in the development and nurturing of new and existing market segment relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing strong partnerships, negotiating contracts, and maximizing revenue streams across various offerings including guest rooms, public spaces, food and beverage, and ancillary services. As Senior Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by engaging with clients, soliciting group accommodations, and representing the hotel at tradeshows and industry events.
The role encompasses building and sustaining significant relationships with partners like AHLI, Visit Austin, and the University of Texas at Austin, which are vital to the hotel's business ecosystem. You will lead external sales activities including meetings with prospective clients, site visits, and hospitality outreach programs. Your adept negotiation skills will be essential in securing contracts and commission agreements that align with the company’s revenue objectives. This position requires a thorough understanding of hotel operations and policies as well as the ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve conflicts with diplomacy and tact.
Emphasis is placed on the candidate’s expertise in hotel product knowledge including operational standards, meeting room setup styles, technological equipment, and safety protocols. Proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Delphi FDC, Market Vision, and other sales and market analysis tools is necessary. You should possess strong communication abilities to effectively comprehend and draft proposals, correspondences, and contracts.
This full-time position is suited for a professional with a minimum of two years’ experience in conference center or hotel sales, preferably supported by a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications. The Senior Sales Manager will contribute to team meetings and collaborate with internal departments to ensure seamless operations and superior guest satisfaction. Job Requirements
- Minimum of four years of college level courses with an emphasis on business
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, Marketing or Communications preferred
- At least two years of experience in conference center or hotel sales
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sales software
- Strong knowledge of hotel policies and operational standards
- Ability to negotiate contracts and handle customer relations
- Effective communication skills in English
