Altria also places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, offering equitable employment opportunities to individuals with diverse backgrounds, including those with criminal convictions, fostering a fair chance at employment for all.
The role of Sales Manager at Altria Group Distribution Company, based in Boston, MA, offers a dynamic opportunity for professionals passionate about sales and business development in a non-commission based environment. This position requires managing an assigned sales territory that generates approximately $15 million in annual revenue with around 130 retail accounts. As a Sales Manager, you will undergo an extensive hands-on sales training program that equips you with the skills to strategically sell and distribute products within your geography. Your responsibilities will encompass driving sales initiatives including promotions, new brand introductions, inventory control, and pricing strategies while fostering strong relationships with retail partners. You will leverage business analytics and category management insights to support retail partners in enhancing their operational performance, offering consultative advice and collaborating to craft innovative solutions that maximize market opportunities.
This role demands a blend of leadership, strategic planning, and analytical skills, emphasizing continuous development through comprehensive training and impactful experiences to grow your leadership capabilities. The Sales Manager will develop and maintain systems that track progress against marketing goals and business metrics, identifying ways to improve product placement and brand marketing initiatives to optimize business outcomes. To thrive in this position, candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills for influencing business partners, aptitude for collaborative teamwork, and creativity in addressing business challenges with innovative solutions. The company values dedication to personal growth and leadership, providing a supportive environment for career progression.
The compensation package is competitive, featuring an annual salary range of $72,900 to $103,900 combined with a target-driven incentive compensation plan. Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits program, including medical, dental, and vision coverage for themselves and eligible dependents, deferred profit-sharing plans with company contributions that reward long-term service, and company vehicles for business and personal use. Additional entitlements such as work-life balance flexibility, a minimum of three weeks’ vacation, paid holidays, maternity and paternity leave, educational refund and student loan reimbursement programs, business technology provisions, and adoption and dependent care assistance further enhance the overall employment experience at Altria. The role requires a valid U.S. driver’s license in good standing for three years, the physical ability to handle sales-related tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and the ability to work full-time in the U.S. without sponsorship. Join Altria as a Sales Manager to influence industry change, develop valuable professional competencies, and contribute to shaping the future of adult tobacco consumer products.
