Job Description

UniFirst is a leading international company in the garment services industry, boasting a remarkable history spanning over 80 years. Serving more than 300,000 business customer locations across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, UniFirst employs approximately 14,000 team partners who are committed to delivering exceptional garment services. With a strong reputation for excellence, UniFirst was recognized in the top 10 of Selling Power magazine's "Best Companies to Sell For" and included in Forbes magazine's "Platinum 400 - Best Big Companies" list. This prestigious recognition underscores UniFirst's commitment to fostering a dynamic and supportive work environment where employees can thrive and contribute to the company's ongoing growth and success.

UniFirst operates in the $18 billion garment services industry, focusing on continuous annual growth and innovation. The company prides itself on offering comprehensive training platforms, career mobility, and cutting-edge technology to empower its sales teams. It also fosters a unique family-like culture that values diversity, inclusiveness, and collaboration, making it a standout employer in the industry. UniFirst's dedication to these principles creates an engaging workplace where team members can build lasting careers and develop meaningful relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

As a Sales Manager at UniFirst, you will be at the forefront of the company’s mission to cultivate "Customers for Life" within a protected territory. This role is pivotal in the organization's sales strategy, combining leadership, training, and sales expertise to drive business growth. You will be entrusted with building, developing, and leading a team of professional Outside Sales Representatives, inspiring them to achieve and surpass sales targets while maintaining high standards of customer service and engagement. The Sales Manager role is both dynamic and rewarding, offering a competitive total compensation package that includes commission and can range from $100,000 to $150,000+ annually.

In this role, your responsibilities will encompass developing and implementing the annual Sales Plan, setting quarterly goals, and providing regular progress updates to the General Manager and other key stakeholders. You will coach and manage your sales team in maintaining contact and securing appointments with assigned accounts, sometimes taking personal responsibility for target accounts in the absence of a salesperson in a territory. To enhance the team’s effectiveness, you will accompany Sales Representatives on sales calls, observe their skills and techniques, and assist in developing actionable improvement plans.

Additionally, the role involves conducting regular product knowledge and selling skills training during weekly sales meetings, as well as evaluating the overall sales performance of each team member. You will guide Sales Representatives in developing strategies to meet or exceed their sales goals and ensure that your location achieves its new account sales quota. Maintaining appropriate staffing levels and collaborating with other Sales Managers or Department Managers on sales-related tasks further highlight the leadership dimension of this position.

UniFirst supports its Sales Managers with a robust benefits package designed to promote work-life balance and professional growth. This includes vehicle mileage and cell phone reimbursement, access to advanced sales tools and CRM software, and a comprehensive range of benefits such as 401k with profit sharing, health and life insurance, disability coverage, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts. UniFirst’s commitment to diversity and equality ensures an inclusive workplace where all employees are valued and respected. Overall, this position offers a challenging yet rewarding career opportunity with ample room for growth within a respected industry leader.
