The role of Sales Manager at Hyatt Place Athens/Downtown is integral to the success of the hotel's sales department. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager assists with daily sales operations and strategic initiatives to maximize revenue. This position requires managing sales quotas, developing and executing sales plans, and handling guest concerns professionally and promptly. Collaborating closely with the Food and Beverage and Banquet teams, the Sales Manager ensures seamless event coordination, boosts revenue opportunities, and enhances guest satisfaction. This role is vital in maintaining communication between different departments to guarantee smooth event execution and uphold brand standards.

Key responsibilities include supporting the Director of Sales in operational and strategic functions, managing sales forecasts and performance metrics, generating new business while maintaining existing client relationships, and negotiating contracts. The Sales Manager also participates in site tours and client meetings and monitors market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities. Maintaining accurate sales records and client documentation is also a crucial part of this job. This is a full-time position offering an annual salary range from $55,000 to $60,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales, food and beverage hotel operations
  • at least 1-3 years in a supervisory role
  • experience with property management systems and hotel reservation software preferred
  • excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities
  • strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • assist the director of sales with daily sales operations and strategic initiatives
  • develop, implement, and manage sales plans to meet or exceed revenue goals

  • work closely with the banquet and food & beverage departments to coordinate events, group bookings, and catering services
  • ensure seamless communication between sales, banquet, and f&b teams for event execution

  • ensure compliance with hotel policies, brand standards, and service expectations
  • participate in site tours, client meetings, and contract negotiations
