Job Description
Sonesta International Hotels is one of the most prominent hotel companies in the United States, ranked as the eighth largest and continually expanding its footprint. This dynamic hotel company operates a unique blend of full-service and focused hotels situated in key cities, offering guests a range of options in terms of location, style, and service. Sonesta's diverse portfolio includes owned, managed, and franchised properties, making the brand widely recognized and available across more than 1000 properties spread over eight countries. The company's commitment to delivering authentic hospitality is reflected in its core values where service is infused with passion, loyalty is given with purpose, and every guest experience is designed to foster genuine connections. This approach not only elevates the guest stay but also promotes a culture of excellence within the organization, cultivating a sense of belonging and pride among employees.
The Sales Manager role at Sonesta International Hotels is a vital position designed for a highly motivated professional focused on driving revenue growth through proactive sales efforts and client relationship management. This full-time position involves soliciting new and existing accounts via multiple channels including telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections, networking events, and written communication. The selected individual will play a key role in preparing correspondence for customers and generating internal booking reports, ensuring smooth coordination with hotel operations teams. The responsibility extends to maintaining an organized contact and activity management system for all assigned accounts to monitor progress and performance effectively.
In this role, the Sales Manager is expected to cultivate strong relationships with key clients to encourage repeat business and explore new sales opportunities. A strategic thinker and an effective communicator, the Sales Manager will develop and execute action plans tailored to individual accounts, consistently aiming to meet or exceed set sales quotas. One of the core focuses is the aggressive pursuit and conversion of new accounts into loyal customers who regularly return. Attendance at local trade shows, community events, and industry meetings will form an essential part of the outreach activities, enhancing the visibility of Sonesta Hotels in the market. The role also demands active promotion of hotel services and guest room sales through corporate accounts and broader organizations.
The Sales Manager will collaborate closely with sales staff and administrative personnel to deliver an integrated and high-performing sales strategy. They will prepare and present clear, insightful reports on sales status and performance outcomes, and stay well-informed about market trends, competitors, and client preferences to adjust strategies accordingly. Professionalism, positive communication, and the ability to operate with integrity and respect are central to the company culture that Sonesta nurtures. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled sales professional to not only grow their career with a reputable global hotel brand but also contribute to the thriving hospitality community Sonesta has built. The position may require occasional travel to workshops, trade shows, and conventions, with some work outside normal business hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Sonesta provides a supportive environment and comprehensive benefits designed to foster employee well-being and success.
