The Sales Manager role at Avion Hospitality is pivotal to the organization’s growth strategy and revenue objectives. This management-level position involves effectively soliciting and managing all accounts within assigned market segments to positively impact hotel revenues. The Sales Manager works closely with the Director of Sales to align sales efforts with the hotel’s revenue and market share goals. The role requires a high level of customer interaction, including prospecting new clients and closing sales opportunities within the territory or assigned accounts. Given the competitive nature of the hospitality industry, the ability to maintain composure and work effectively under pressure is essential. This position demands an individual who can analyze and respond to market trends with innovative sales strategies, coordinate special promotions, and conduct site inspections and entertaining of clients to boost direct sales segments.

The Sales Manager will also be responsible for attending various meetings, including daily or weekly sales meetings, monthly professional organization gatherings, and mandatory internal briefings, ensuring consistent team communication and alignment on sales goals. Regular interaction with guests and employees is expected to meet Avion Hospitality’s high standards for attentiveness, friendliness, and service orientation. This role may require flexibility in working hours to meet the full scope of responsibilities; overtime is applicable for non-exempt associates. Furthermore, proficiency in Windows operating systems, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license are necessary prerequisites. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Avion Hospitality standards, including mandatory Monday-Friday ABR meeting
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with dress code and wearing name tag
  • Comply at all times with Avion Hospitality standards and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Solicit assigned accounts to achieve or exceed budgeted rooms revenue
  • Conduct sales specific to business travel and/or groups, as required
  • Make sales appointments and cold calls to consistently prospect accounts for all direct sales segments
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate market trends
  • Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals assigned by Director of Sales
  • Invite clients to hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections
  • Assist in implementing special promotions related to direct sales segments
  • Attend and participate in daily/weekly sales meetings and monthly meetings of assigned professional organizations
  • Participate in required M.O.D. and Saturday office coverage as scheduled
  • Be familiar with all sales policies and house rules
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, employees and managers
  • Attend monthly all-employee meetings and other management-required functions
  • Meet and greet onsite contacts
  • Abide by Prime Selling Time (PST)
  • React to negative market trends by implementing blitzes or catering promotions
  • Handle inquiries as part of Inquiry Day Program
  • Perform other duties as requested by General Manager or Director of Sales
