Currently, Crestline Hotels & Resorts is looking to hire a Sales Manager who will play a pivotal role in driving the hotel’s business growth through effective sales strategies and relationship management. The Sales Manager will focus on soliciting, selling, and contracting hotel rooms targeted at specific markets, aligning with transient demand patterns and existing group business. This role is essential for maximizing hotel occupancy as well as revenue generation.

The Sales Manager’s responsibilities will include maintaining strong relationships with current clients while proactively pursuing new business opportunities. They will develop and execute strategic sales plans designed to attract and secure the right business mix for the hotel. This involves conducting telephone prospecting, making outside sales calls, organizing site inspections, and engaging in effective written communication to meet and exceed revenue goals. Participation in trade shows, industry meetings, and community events will also be required to increase the hotel’s visibility and network.

In this role, the Sales Manager must be adept at responding promptly and skillfully to incoming leads, converting as many as possible into confirmed business. Analytical skills are important for managing business opportunities, ensuring profitability and alignment with the hotel’s goals. The individual must be knowledgeable about local market trends, competitors, and key accounts, using creativity to sell available hotel space optimally.

Negotiating and finalizing contracts within approved company guidelines is part of the daily function, as is ensuring accurate record-keeping in sales software for all client communications and transactions. The Sales Manager will also act as a professional face of the hotel, establishing onsite customer contact and facilitating introductions to the service staff to ensure excellent customer experiences.

Additional duties include following up with clients post-function to confirm satisfaction and cultivate repeat business, assisting other sales team members to achieve departmental goals, and supporting the Director of Sales with annual business planning and budget preparations. Flexibility to occasionally work weekends or outside regular hours is expected.

This position may also involve coordinating event details such as rooming lists, catering selections, and setup arrangements; finalizing banquet event orders (BEOs); tracking payments; communicating with hotel departments to ensure smooth event executions; and forecasting occupancy to aid operational staffing decisions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • experience in hotel and/or conference center sales
  • proficiency with computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, property management systems, sales software
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • knowledge of sales techniques and revenue management
  • ability to plan, organize, and delegate tasks
  • flexibility to work weekends and flexible hours as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • one to two years of experience in hotel and/or conference center sales or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to utilize a variety of computer programs effectively including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, property management systems, sales software, timekeeping systems
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, writing and executing action plans, and hotel operations
  • ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate
  • hotel sales experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Creates and executes strategic sales plans to identify, attract and retain appropriate business to the hotel
  • solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections, and written communication
  • attend trade shows, industry meetings, and community events
  • overnight travel for business-related activities as needed
  • prepare sales proposals for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate based on individual clients and accounts
  • skillfully respond to incoming leads and maximize conversion from all lead sources
  • analyze and manage business opportunities to achieve the highest profit margins for department and hotel
  • knowledge of local market trends, competition, and key accounts of the hotel
  • creatively sells available hotel space to maximize revenue

  • ensure proper usage and that all required information is entered into sales software including all significant client communication
  • establishes on-sight customer contact as needed and introduces customers to the service staff
  • follows up with clients after each function to ensure satisfaction and solicit additional business
  • conducts oneself at all times in a professional business manner, acts as a professional representative of the hotel, and an enthusiastic member of the sales team
  • volunteers and assists other sales members as needed in the achievement of their goals to ensure departmental and hotel goals are met
  • assists Director of Sales with an annual business plan and budget
