Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years of sales role experience at a large hotel
- Experience with group and banquet sales
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Knowledge of market position, pricing, and yield management
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Proficiency with customer relationship and sales management software
- Ability to walk, bend, sit for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Valid California Driver's License
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years' sales experience at a property with 200+ rooms and 10,000 sq. ft of meeting space
- Preferred AAA Four-Diamond experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of sales and hospitality principles
- Ability to cover for sales and catering team members
- Skilled in sales-oriented writing techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Office, Cvent, and CITY
- Understanding of hotel positioning and services
- English fluency required, additional languages a plus
- Valid California Driver's License
Job Duties
- Manage group and banquet room revenue goals achievement
- Develop and implement sales strategies using market intelligence
- Establish and maintain lasting relationships with clients and third parties
- Coordinate with catering and operational teams for flawless event execution
- Conduct immersive client site visits to deliver a unique experience
- Utilize Marriott brand resources and participate in trade shows
- Monitor competitive set and adjust strategies to maintain leadership
- Manage travel and entertainment expenses with ROI reporting
- Develop marketing promotions and collateral
- Prepare and execute hotel event contracts
- Engage in new business development using tools like Knowland and Insight
