Job Description
Marriott International is recognized worldwide as the largest hotel company, renowned for its diverse portfolio of brands and unparalleled opportunities for career growth and development. With a commitment to fostering a culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion, Marriott International welcomes associates from all backgrounds and experiences. The company prioritizes creating an environment where individuals can thrive, develop their skills, and achieve their professional goals. Marriott's dedication to equal opportunity ensures a supportive workplace free from discrimination based on any protected basis, including disability or veteran status.
The role advertised is a sales-driven position based in the Phoenix, Arizona market, focused on Marriott Select Brand Hotels. This is a full-time, management-level position with a competitive annual salary range of $67,000 to $92,000, and it includes eligibility for bonuses. A noteworthy feature of this role is the $2,000 sign-on bonus, emphasizing the company's commitment to attracting talented professionals who can make an immediate impact. Candidates must reside within the Phoenix market as the role requires direct engagement with local business segments and onsite hotel coordination, although the schedule allows for a flexible, partly remote work environment.
The primary objective of the Sales Executive is to proactively drive revenue and achieve the topline sales goals of each represented hotel by actively soliciting business from different segments. This includes targeting new small business accounts, sourcing potential clients, identifying new sales targets, and re-engaging past leads. The role plays a key part in implementing pricing strategies, supporting internal hotel sales mining efforts, and partnering closely with hotel leadership to craft competitive sales approaches tailored to the Phoenix hospitality market. The Sales Executive reports directly to the Property Sales Leader and collaborates with General Managers to focus on revenue-generating sales activities.
Key responsibilities encompass managing sales activities such as account deployment, funnel management, status reporting, and leveraging multiple sales channels including local, U.S., and global sales teams. This sales professional must utilize various internal tools and platforms to maintain accurate lead and customer information, analyze market trends, and communicate changes and opportunities promptly. Building strong relationships within the community and with local businesses is critical; therefore, the role includes participation in networking events and direct outreach efforts.
Beyond sales execution, this role emphasizes customer service excellence by addressing customer care issues, supporting relationship-building initiatives, and driving customer loyalty. The Sales Executive engages in property-related events to nurture new accounts and position the hotels as preferred partners. The role demands someone who can independently prioritize a fluctuating workload, contribute meaningfully to sales strategy meetings, and employ negotiation and creative selling techniques to uncover new business avenues.
This position is ideal for an individual with a blend of hospitality sales knowledge, proactive lead generation experience, and strong interpersonal skills, who is ready to contribute to the growth of Marriott Select Brand Hotels within a competitive market. Marriott International offers a supportive environment where one can belong to a global team, begin a purposeful career journey, and become the best version of themselves.
