Job Description
LVD is a global leader specializing in the design and manufacture of sheet metal fabrication equipment. Renowned for offering one of the industry's most comprehensive product ranges, LVD provides innovative and integrated metalworking solutions that enhance production processes and drive forward the vision of the Smart Factory. With a strong commitment to quality, technology, and customer satisfaction, LVD supports manufacturers worldwide in optimizing their operations through advanced machinery and software solutions.
The company is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Sales Engineer to join their dynamic sales team, reporting directly to the National Sales and Marketing Manager for North America. This full-time remote position based in the USA offers a highly attractive compensation package with an on-target earning potential of $125,000 per year, combining base salary with uncapped tiered commission and bonuses.
The Sales Engineer role is tailored for individuals with a solid foundation in capital equipment sales, ideally with experience in the sheet metal machinery sector. The ideal candidate will possess a "hunter" mentality, thrive on independently managing and developing new business opportunities, and demonstrate excellent organizational abilities. This outside sales role requires frequent travel within assigned territories, including Colorado, Florida, Houston (TX), Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, and New England, to engage directly with clients and prospects. Additionally, occasional international travel to LVD's headquarters in Belgium may be necessary for company events and client presentations.
Primary responsibilities involve spearheading new customer acquisition while nurturing repeat sales from existing relationships. The Sales Engineer will engage prospects via cold calling, inbound leads, and marketing initiatives, delivering compelling product presentations and demonstrations. Collaboration with the National Sales Manager and technical teams will be critical to negotiate and close sales effectively, ensuring outcomes that align with company profitability goals.
Aside from the sales aspect, the role demands technical expertise in understanding customer requirements through site visits, coordinating solution development alongside product managers, and recommending appropriate capital equipment solutions. Knowledge of CNC fiber laser cutting machines, press brakes, punch presses, shearing machines, and automated material handling systems is highly valued. Mastery of Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office Suite will support managing customer data, tracking sales pipeline, and reporting market trends.
The Sales Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining meticulous sales records, preparing analytical reports, managing expense documentation, and balancing multiple concurrent priorities to meet deadlines efficiently. Success in this role depends on excellent communication, negotiation skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to travel extensively (up to 75% of the time).
LVD’s commitment to employee welfare is reflected in its comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, a company vehicle with full maintenance and fuel coverage, an expense account, 401(k) with employer matching and profit sharing, paid time off, holidays, and an Employee Assistance Program. This position offers an exciting opportunity for driven sales professionals eager to make an impact in a cutting-edge manufacturing environment while enjoying the flexibility of remote work and the support of a well-established global brand.
