This particular role is a full-time sales development position within Breakthru Beverage Group’s Sales Department. Designed to be dynamic and flexible, the role involves rotating through various territories to fill open sales positions and maximize the sales of the company’s extensive portfolio of supplier brands. The Sales Development Representative will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with accounts, delivering professional sales presentations, and managing merchandising efforts in collaboration with the Merchandising Department during busy periods.

The position requires the ability to call on accounts regularly, execute efficient daily route planning, and achieve sales goals through strategic planning and product promotion. Candidates will be involved in activities such as inventory management, ensuring product visibility with point of sale materials, and providing educational training to account staff on the company’s brands. Additional responsibilities include managing payments where legal, addressing customer issues, and participating actively in sales meetings to stay informed about supplier and company activities.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, at least two years of sales experience, and strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The role also demands physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting and transporting products, along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. A valid driver’s license is required, and preferred qualifications include the ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit and understanding of wine and spirits.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and work experience

Job Duties

  • Calls on accounts and covers daily routes by creating an established and efficient routing pattern
  • Prepares and delivers professional sales presentations to customers by balancing the company’s priorities and customer’s needs
  • Maintains product levels in accounts by taking inventory and restocking shelves where legal
  • Ensures maximum brand visibility within accounts by using effective and current point of sale materials
  • Obtains payments for company by collecting and delivering checks or other remittance where legally permissible
  • Educates account staff by conducting educational staff training seminars on brands
  • Services accounts by delivering products, handling customer issues and complaints, referring these issues to management
  • Strategizes and preplans to achieve sales and merchandising objectives by understanding pricing and purchasing trends
  • Ensures national account compliance by completing necessary surveys
  • Manages customer account receivables by processing credits and communicating on aged receivables
  • Attends and participates in weekly sales meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
