Job Description
Marriott International is a global leader in the hospitality industry, renowned for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and innovative service. With a legacy spanning over a century, Marriott has established itself as a trusted name in luxury, comfort, and quality across the world. Among its prestigious portfolio is The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, a distinguished brand offering authentic and memorable experiences in over 120 hotels across more than 35 countries. This collection features iconic properties that embody the cultural essence of their locations—from legendary palaces to modern classics—providing guests with unique portals to the heritage and treasures of each destination.
Located in Los Angeles, California, the position is a full-time, non-management role within Marriott's Sales and Marketing division at the 465 S La Cienega Blvd location. The pay range for this opportunity is between $32.00 and $35.00 per hour. This role plays an integral part in supporting the sales process through various administrative and customer service tasks that enhance brand visibility and guest engagement.
As a key member of the sales support team, the successful candidate will perform general office tasks to aid the Sales and Marketing department. This includes filing, transcribing information, sending emails and faxes, and photocopying documents. The role requires meticulous preparation of sales-related documents such as proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders, ensuring seamless facilitation throughout the entire sales process. A strong focus on promoting both internal and external awareness of Marriott's brand image is essential.
The role demands the ability to gather materials like brochures and promotional items and assemble comprehensive information packages. Employing effective sales techniques to maximize revenue while maintaining loyalty among existing guests is a critical component of this job. Proficiency in using sales-related software to input, reconcile, and verify data related to commissions, initiatives, and third-party activities supports smooth operational workflows. Communication is a key responsibility—responding promptly to guests’ inquiries about facility services, room types, rates, packages, entertainment, and special events fosters positive customer relations.
Acting as a primary point of contact for customers through phone and email requires professionalism and responsiveness to customer needs and requests. Adherence to company policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean and professional appearance and safeguarding confidential company information, is mandatory. The candidate will also be responsible for welcoming guests in accordance with Marriott’s high service standards, anticipating their service needs, and showing genuine appreciation.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to interact effectively with colleagues and clients. This entails clear, professional language, precise document preparation, and appropriate telephone protocol. Building and sustaining positive working relationships within the team is encouraged, alongside contributing to collective goals and responding appropriately to coworkers’ concerns. The role includes compliance with quality assurance standards and the ability to handle light physical tasks such as moving objects under 10 pounds. Additional reasonable duties may be assigned by supervisors.
Marriott International prides itself on fostering an inclusive workplace that values diversity, equity, and equal opportunity, ensuring every employee feels welcomed and supported. The organization's commitment to non-discrimination extends to all legally protected characteristics, including disability and veteran status, and considers qualified applicants with criminal histories in accordance with applicable laws. This company culture enhances employee engagement and promotes a positive work environment.
Joining Marriott’s Luxury Collection means becoming part of a global network dedicated to delivering unparalleled luxury hospitality. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an esteemed brand with rich heritage and a focus on personalized guest experiences. Candidates passionate about storytelling, cultural heritage, and luxury service excellence will find this role immensely fulfilling as they grow professionally and align with Marriott's purpose and values.
