The Sales Consultant (SC) role at Fortune Fish & Gourmet plays a crucial role within the sales division by cultivating strong, profitable customer relationships through tailored solutions and exceptional service. This full-time position places the SC at the forefront of driving revenue and gross profit growth through strategic customer alignment, expert product promotion, and delivering professionalism paired with culinary passion. The SC also works closely with internal teams such as Product, Category, Purchasing, Operations, and Accounting to ensure alignment of inventory levels, timely deliveries, proper credit term arrangements, and accurate documentation. Sales strategy, organization, and administration duties include developing and executing strategic sales plans to meet and exceed targets, prioritizing daily activities for timely follow-ups and delivery coordination, preparing compelling sales proposals, maintaining detailed sales records, and effectively utilizing customer management systems and social media platforms to identify prospects.
Customer engagement is a pivotal element of this role, requiring the SC to act as a trusted consultant to clients. This involves addressing inquiries quickly and precisely, resolving service issues diplomatically, and conducting follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and the establishment of long-term partnerships. Additionally, the SC works closely with senior staff and Sales Directors to develop competitive pricing strategies tailored to diverse customer needs, contributing to a vibrant culture of innovation, teamwork, and shared success at Fortune Fish & Gourmet.
Ideal candidates have at least two years of outside sales experience in perishable food products, preferably with seafood, and 2-5 years of professional sales experience in the foodservice industry or 5-7 years in chef or restaurant management. A degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or equivalent industry experience is highly valued. Candidates must possess advanced English verbal communication skills, be quick learners regarding company products and operations, and proficient with MS Office, presentation software, and social media platforms.
