Job Description

Mattress Warehouse is one of the largest and fastest-growing bedding retailers in the United States, dedicated to enhancing lives through quality sleep. With over 520 store locations nationwide and 35-plus years of industry leadership, Mattress Warehouse is a family-owned and operated business founded on strong values and committed to providing exceptional products and customer service. The company prides itself on fostering a team-oriented work environment where associates are empowered to shape their careers while making a meaningful impact every day. At Mattress Warehouse, employees are treated as valuable team members whose hard work and dedication are recognized and rewarded.

As a Retail Sales Consultant at Mattress Warehouse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an outstanding shopping experience based on personalized service and advanced diagnostic technology. This role involves leveraging the exclusive bedMATCH® diagnostic sleep system, a proprietary technology utilizing 18 measurements and personalized recommendations to help customers identify the perfect mattress tailored to their unique needs. By guiding customers through this process, you will help improve their sleep quality and overall satisfaction.

The position offers a robust compensation package that combines a generous hourly wage or commission-based pay, eligibility for bonuses, and participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with a substantial employer match to support long-term financial security. Additionally, Mattress Warehouse provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability insurance, basic life and AD&D coverage, plus employee recognition programs and product discounts, demonstrating a genuine commitment to associate well-being.

This role requires individuals who are motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic about customer interaction and sales in a retail setting. The typical work schedule includes evenings, most holidays, and weekends, ranging between 40 and 55 hours per week over 4 to 5 days, designed to balance workload with personal time. Candidates should be comfortable using modern sales technology including tablets, mobile point of sale (POS) systems, and the bedMATCH® diagnostic tool to enhance the shopping experience.

Beyond sales expertise, you will need the physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and assist customers with loading mattresses, maintaining the showroom, and resetting floor displays. The ideal candidate will also exhibit a relaxed, low-pressure approach focused on educating customers about sleep solutions to improve their lives. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish or other languages are a plus, reflecting the company’s inclusive and diverse workplace culture.

Mattress Warehouse is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, embracing diversity and fostering inclusion for all employees regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status. If you are a driven, results-oriented individual with passion for retail and customer service excellence, this position offers an exceptional opportunity to grow your career in a supportive and rewarding environment. Join Mattress Warehouse and take part in a company that is committed to helping customers achieve better sleep and enriching communities through quality products and outstanding service.
