The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a unique, no-fee rehabilitation program designed to assist men and women seeking recovery and a fresh start in their lives. As a respected nonprofit organization, The Salvation Army provides vital community services through its programs, and the Adult Rehabilitation Center plays a key role in helping individuals rebuild themselves through structured support and comprehensive rehabilitation. The center operates with the help of dedicated employees who contribute significantly to the maintenance, effectiveness, and outreach of the program. This role is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organization committed to social betterment and community welfare.
Located in Clovis, the Salvation Army's Thrift Store supports the ARC, serving as a retail cornerstone where donated goods are resold to the public. Being part of the retail team means actively contributing to the success of the Adult Rehabilitation Program by ensuring a welcoming environment for customers and donors while managing inventory efficiently. As a Sales Associate/Material Handler, your work will directly impact the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the store and donation areas. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to develop skills in customer service, inventory management, and teamwork while supporting a positive shopping and donor experience.
With a wage of $16.90 per hour, this part-time role emphasizes flexibility and collaboration. Employees are expected to maintain compliance with store policies, handle point-of-sale transactions accurately, and engage in regular training and team meetings. In addition to its social mission, the Salvation Army offers career development opportunities and benefits like paid time off, employee discounts, and referral bonuses. The role demands physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks such as unloading donations and maintaining store order.
The Salvation Army values all employees' dedication and provides a supportive work environment emphasizing inclusivity, safety, and personal growth. As an employer, it adheres strictly to federal employment laws and embraces diversity by being an equal opportunity employer committed to protected veterans and individuals with disabilities. In the wake of COVID-19, the organization complies fully with health directives, including vaccination mandates where necessary, supporting requests for exemptions based on religious or medical grounds.
If you are enthusiastic about community service, have experience in customer service, and are eager to contribute to a meaningful cause, the Sales Associate/Material Handler role at The Salvation Army Thrift Store offers a fulfilling career path with a sense of community impact and professional growth.
