Mel Trotter Mission Thrift LLC is a part-time employer seeking individuals who are passionate about both retail operations and serving the community through faith-inspired work. The position offers an hourly wage of $13.73, with work hours ranging from 20 to 25 per week, primarily Monday through Saturday with a minimum commitment of two Saturdays per month. This role requires open availability, ensuring that candidate hours are flexible to meet the store’s operational needs.

The role involves a variety of essential retail functions under the guidance of the Retail Management team. Employees are expected to contribute proactively to store operations including register management, customer service, store appearance, and employee interactions. A significant focus of the position is to maintain a welcoming, joyful atmosphere that reflects the values and mission of Mel Trotter Ministries. Each team member acts as an example of ‘‘revealing Christ’’ in their behavior and communication with customers, staff, and donors.

Key duties include assisting with transactions such as cash and credit card handling, supporting the store’s customer service standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the store including the fitting rooms, and assisting with stocking shelves and changing product displays. Employees are also responsible for reporting any operational issues daily to management, attending training sessions, and ensuring all opening and closing procedures are followed precisely.

This job demands strong interpersonal skills and a servant’s heart, excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment. Candidates must be detail-oriented, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and possess solid organizational and time management skills. Basic computer skills, including typing and web browsing, are necessary to perform daily responsibilities effectively.

Physically, this role requires significant standing, walking, manual handling, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. It involves moderate to heavy physical activity, which may include tasks performed in a warehouse setting or outdoors depending on location. Employees must have good vision capabilities, including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
