The Sales Associate role at Dollar General serves as the essential point of contact between customers and the store. Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to perform cash register operations accurately
Effective verbal communication skills
Understanding and adherence to safety procedures
Ability to follow planogram and merchandise presentation guidelines
Basic math skills for handling transactions
Capability to stock and rotate merchandise
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 55 pounds occasionally
Comfortable with frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling
Able to handle equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, and rolltainers
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise
Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
Availability for part-time employment

Job Duties

Provide excellent customer service, greet and assist customers
Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer’s purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary
Follow company merchandise processes
unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays
Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors, clean restroom and receiving room, and help set up sidewalk displays
Assist the Store Manager with other duties assigned to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets
Handle merchandise and equipment safely such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, U-boats, and rolltainers
Maintain proper lifting techniques with frequent lifting up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting up to 55 pounds
Work in a fast-paced retail environment with moderate noise levels
Occasionally perform climbing tasks using step ladders up to six feet
