The role offered at Dollar General is a store position that plays a critical part in achieving the company’s mission of Serving Others. The employee will act as the point of contact for customers, providing assistance and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This role entails essential duties such as unloading trucks, stocking merchandise properly by following plan-o-grams, and building attractive merchandise displays. The employee is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, which includes dusting, mopping, cleaning restrooms and stockrooms, and handling waste such as bailing cardboard and taking out trash. In addition to stocking duties, this position involves operating the cash register and flatbed scanner to complete customer purchases accurately, handling cash, and assisting with merchandise ordering using hand-held scanners.

This job demands the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining teamwork and protecting company assets. The ideal candidate will have effective interpersonal and oral communication skills, a solid understanding of safety policies and procedures, and basic mathematical and cash handling skills. The job requires physical capabilities including frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting merchandise up to 40 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting up to 55 pounds.
