The Color & Curl Concierge / Colour & Curl Specialist role is pivotal within our organization, serving as the expert ambassador and steward of all things color and curl related. This position is not only about selling products—it is about educating, inspiring, and building lasting relationships with professional beauty salons, barbers, spas, schools, and licensed cosmetologists. The role requires a deep knowledge of color and curl technology combined with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong business acumen. The specialist drives sales growth by creating increased customer retention and loyalty, building brand awareness, and expanding hair color market share through thoughtful consultations, professional recommendations, and engaging educational presentations both in-store and virtually.

This full-time role involves extensive product and technical education, supported by structured online guided learning and certification courses to ensure continuous professional development. The Color & Curl Concierge is responsible for maintaining high merchandising standards that align with brand guidelines to create an inviting atmosphere for customers. They stay abreast of emerging trends in the hair and beauty industry, responding flexibly to changing market conditions and tailoring sales techniques accordingly. Collaboration is key, as this role communicates effectively across departments to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Ideal candidates will bring at least one year of retail or sales experience with a preference for licensed cosmetologists in the US or Canada. The role demands strong organizational skills, proficiency with POS systems, mobile devices, social media platforms, and a comprehensive understanding of sales reporting and inventory control. The ability to travel to trade shows or sales meetings is required, typically up to three times per year. Reliability, professionalism, and a customer-focused attitude are essential traits for success.

Job Requirements

  • One year retail or sales-focused experience required
  • Licensed cosmetologist highly preferred
  • Reliable transportation to service designated store and market
  • Ability to travel to shows or sales meetings at least three times a year
  • Commitment to scheduled hours and flexibility for additional hours
  • May be required to work across stores and in the field
  • Strong business acumen and ability to act on sales reporting
  • Proficiency with POS systems and mobile/social media platforms
  • Ability to pass mandatory Color Certification Test within 60 days
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Determine customer color and care related needs and offer professional advice and recommendations
  • Communicate upward and cross functionally regarding calls, visits, orders, sales progress, follow-up plans and assistance needed
  • Ensure customer concerns and questions are resolved timely and effectively
  • Maintain high standards of color and curl merchandising, placement, signage, and display techniques
  • Stay informed of emerging trends and adapt sales techniques to market changes
  • Perform store opening and closing procedures accurately, including cash handling and bank deposits
  • Demonstrate company culture values and adhere to code of ethics and behavior
