Job Description

New Life Center is a faith-based Christian ministry dedicated to serving the community through various outreach and support programs. Operating a thrift store as part of their ministry, New Life Center seeks to provide not only affordable goods to the public but also employment opportunities that align with their Christian mission and values. The thrift store encompasses a retail environment that relies heavily on team collaboration, respect, and a genuine desire to serve others. The organization is committed to maintaining a work environment grounded in their Statement of Faith while ensuring that employees model their REAL values: Respectful, Encouraging, Accountable, and Loving.

The Sales Associate position at New Life Center Thrift Store is designed for a motivated individual who thrives in a customer-focused, service-oriented environment. This part-time role, typically involving 12-16 hours per week during weekday evenings and rotating Saturdays, is pivotal to ensuring a positive shopping experience. The Sales Associate will engage with customers by providing a warm welcome, assisting with locating items, processing sales accurately and efficiently, and maintaining the sales floor in a visually appealing and well-stocked condition. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities in the back-of-house environment where donated goods are received, processed, sorted, and priced under supervision.

The position reports directly to the Assistant Thrift Store Manager and is classified as non-exempt. It offers an opportunity for cross-functional growth as employees are trained in multiple aspects of the store and warehouse operations. Candidates will be part of a team that values adaptability, attention to detail, and a respectful approach to working within a recovery-adjacent environment. Emphasis is placed on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, compassion for those in need, and a commitment to the organization’s mission of transformation through love.

This role is ideal for individuals seeking a part-time position within a supportive faith-based atmosphere, who are punctual, dependable, and eager to contribute to both the retail and processing operations of the thrift store. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work safely around medium-duty equipment such as forklifts is required. New Life Center commits to providing reasonable accommodations as mandated by the ADA. All staff must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check as part of the hiring process.

By joining New Life Center, Sales Associates become part of a ministry that blends practical work responsibilities with spiritual growth and community service. Employees are encouraged to embody the Christian faith in their daily tasks and interactions, ensuring that every contribution supports the overall success and mission of the organization. This position not only offers employment but a chance to make a meaningful impact through service in a values-driven, team-oriented environment.
