The Junior Sales Representative role at MSI is a full-time, associate-level position that offers an hourly wage between $25 and $28, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the base rate. Employees typically earn between $71,500 and $80,000 annually depending on experience, overtime, and bonuses. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with four Saturdays per month from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This role focuses on actively reaching out to contractors, builders, and developers to promote MSI's wide range of products and services. The Junior Sales Representative will engage in outbound calls, develop meaningful relationships, and encourage potential clients to visit MSI showrooms for consultations and product exploration. The primary responsibility is to acquire new accounts and expand MSI's market presence by capturing new market share.
In addition, the representative will deliver exceptional showroom experiences by assisting customers with design inspiration, answering their inquiries through email, phone, or in person. They will qualify walk-in customers to understand their project scope and recommend appropriate MSI materials that meet full project needs. The representative plays a critical role in maintaining client relationships through regular follow-ups and excellent customer service, actively following up with trade customers to explore sales opportunities and close deals by addressing quotes and service needs.
A key aspect of this role is to gain comprehensive knowledge of MSI products available in the showroom and ensure that showroom displays are impeccably maintained, with products updated and marketing materials readily available. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
This position requires someone with a high school diploma and preferably 2 years of related industry experience. Prior retail sales experience in the tile or stone industry is required, while knowledge of tile and stone is a strong plus. The candidate must demonstrate strong customer service skills, be a quick learner able to understand the product line thoroughly, and communicate effectively in English. Organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential, along with resilience in handling customer rejection and problem-solving capabilities. Availability to work Saturday shifts is mandatory, and bilingual abilities are considered an advantage.
Physically, the role requires regular use of hands, communication, frequent walking and standing with occasional sitting, as well as the ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Close vision is necessary for handling detailed product inspection and interactions.
