Safety-Kleen, located in Knoxville, TN, is currently seeking a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee (Driver Class B Trainee) to join their team. Safety-Kleen provides critical onsite services for parts washer machines, hazardous waste pick-up, and product sales within a defined route. This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in obtaining a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), as Safety-Kleen will sponsor the training required to achieve this credential. Trainees will learn to operate Class B box trucks and deliver efficient and safe service to customers in various industries including automotive repair, fleet management, and manufacturing.
Working as a Sales and Service Route Driver Trainee means engaging in an essential, hands-on role where surface-level customer service skills combine with technical knowledge and safety compliance. The responsibilities include switching out drums of cleaning solutions, servicing parts washers, conducting waste pick-ups, and generating new business leads. Safety-Kleen prioritizes health and safety, ensuring employees work within stringent safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain Class B CDL
- Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment
- Basic computer and math skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to perform physical functions as required by the job
- Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical examination
- Compliance with OSHA’s Respiratory Protection standard facial hair policy
Job Qualifications
- Class B CDL
- Obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsement within 90 days of employment

Job Duties
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
- May visit 10-12 customer sites per day
- Switch out 15- and 30-gallon drums of solutions
- Service parts washer machines and clean out sediment from sinks
- Up-sell at customer locations and generate new leads in the field
- Service automotive repair, fleets, and manufacturing type businesses
- Complete daily scheduled services, deliveries, and pick-ups in a timely manner
