Penske’s operations span across numerous locations nationwide, offering a dynamic and stimulating work environment where career growth opportunities are highly encouraged. The company values a winning culture built on collaboration, integrity, and customer satisfaction, providing ongoing training and mentoring to nurture talent and foster professional development.
The Sales and Operations Management Trainee position at Penske presents an exciting opportunity for recent graduates with a business or marketing background who are eager to launch their management careers in a fast-paced and rewarding setting. This role offers a comprehensive introduction to various facets of the business including sales, operations, finance, customer service, and cutting-edge technology. Trainees are empowered to take charge, think fast, and act decisively in running the business and solving problems for customers, many of whom are high-profile clients such as Fortune 500 companies. With a starting salary of $52,000 annually or $25 per hour, this hourly position also includes premium pay for weekend work and requires availability to work holidays and weekend days as necessary.
Throughout the training period, which lasts between six to nine months, trainees receive extensive support through ongoing education and mentoring to master Penske’s sales processes, operational workflows, and customer-centric approach. Trainees are actively involved in developing tailored consumer and commercial customer solutions, managing a large inventory of nationally recognized vehicles, and maintaining a balance between fleet productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include generating new business leads and nurturing existing relationships to ensure customer satisfaction in a dynamic work environment. The role demands effective communication, attention to detail, and strong time management skills, as well as the ability to work responsibly and safely in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations due to its driving components.
This position is ideal for motivated individuals who are results-oriented and passionate about building a management career with a respected industry leader. Penske values its employees by offering competitive wages, excellent benefits, associate incentives, and discount programs. It also provides promising advancement opportunities that come with a base pay increase following successful completion of the training period. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be qualified to drive Penske vehicles, including 26-foot box trucks, and be willing to travel within the district for customer visits and training purposes. Penske Truck Leasing emphasizes workplace safety and requires associates to maintain a current driver qualification file, including successful completion of necessary Department of Transportation physicals and background investigations. The company is an equal opportunity employer that supports diversity and inclusion in the workplace, ensuring all associates have the resources to thrive and grow their careers.
