This position plays a crucial part in driving revenue growth through proactive sales efforts focused on public spaces, food and beverage services, and function planning within the property. The role requires establishing and nurturing new client relationships while maintaining strong connections with existing customers to maximize sales opportunities. The successful candidate will engage with diverse market sectors including groups, travel managers, and consumers, leveraging networking channels and market research to penetrate key business activities effectively. They will participate actively in industry organizations, trade shows, and community events, aiming to generate new business through presentations, sales blitzes, and onsite engagements. Responsibilities further extend to detailed client communications, responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), coordinating event details with hotel departments, and maintaining organized records of all client interactions. This position demands exceptional sales acumen, a deep understanding of market trends, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, time-sensitive hospitality environment. Job Requirements
- two or more years of related catering or event sales experience in a similar sized hotel, resort or winery operation
- experience working with multicultural weddings or events desired
- knowledge of cost control measures involved with events and meetings desired
- solid knowledge of hotel service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- ability and experience in successfully selling and working in a high volume, time sensitive environment
