Job Description
The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is a vibrant community facility dedicated to providing a wide range of social, recreational, and educational services to individuals and families. The center is known for its commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the community through various programs and events. It serves as a hub for social gatherings, community meetings, and public events in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The Kroc Center operates as part of The Salvation Army, a global organization renowned for its charitable work and community support services. As a full-time employer, the center offers stable employment with a 39-hour work week, including some weekend shifts to accommodate the scheduling needs of various events and activities.
The role of the Sales and Events Coordinator at The Kroc Center focuses on managing the outside sales efforts related to the facility's rental spaces. These spaces are frequently booked for important occasions such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, corporate meetings, and other community events. The coordinator acts as the primary point of contact for clients, providing personalized service and working closely with customers to ensure their event requirements are met, including technical accommodations like video and sound equipment. This position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment where customer service is paramount.
The Sales and Events Coordinator works collaboratively with various departments within the center, including the Program Department and Membership and Guest Services, to coordinate successful events. Responsibilities include developing sales strategies, identifying new prospects, and setting appointments to promote the facility's rental options. The coordinator also manages the scheduling system, rental agreements, deposits, payments, and refunds, ensuring all transactions are handled accurately and in a timely manner. Furthermore, the role requires monitoring adherence to rental agreements, overseeing event setup and cleanup, and coordinating with the finance department to ensure payment accuracy.
Physical demands of the job are moderate, involving walking, standing, and occasional lifting of items weighing between 25 to 50 pounds. Most of the work is performed indoors in an office setting, with regular interactions involving facility tours and client meetings. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to community engagement by facilitating memorable events and helping customers make the most of the Kroc Center's offerings.
Working at The Kroc Center comes with a comprehensive benefit package that supports the health and well-being of its employees. Benefits include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 403B savings plan, and paid life insurance. This ensures that employees are well cared for while they contribute their talents to the community. The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is an equal opportunity employer that values veterans and individuals with disabilities, encouraging a diverse and inclusive workplace environment.
