The role of Sales & Catering Manager at CMC Hotels is a critical position focused on maximizing revenue streams within the catering and group event segments. This role involves proactive account management, solicitation of new business opportunities, and the execution of tailored action plans that align with the company’s catering sales policies and procedures. The Sales & Catering Manager is responsible for meticulously coordinating all aspects of pre-event, event, and post-event activities, including overseeing room blocks, meeting spaces, event orders, and billing details. The ideal candidate will bring robust knowledge of weddings, social functions, and corporate events, combined with strong analytical skills to interpret market reports and forecast revenue accurately.

This position demands exceptional interpersonal abilities to build and maintain client relationships, conduct property tours, and effectively promote hotel facilities and services. Additionally, the Sales & Catering Manager plays an integral role in supervising event setups and ensuring seamless communication across departments to guarantee flawless execution. Candidates must be adaptable to handle inquiries from various channels, prepare competitive menus and pricing in collaboration with senior management, and maintain a sharp understanding of the competitive landscape and local market dynamics.

Key technical competencies include outstanding organizational and time management skills, proficiency in computer systems and research tools, and the ability to negotiate effectively while safeguarding the hotel’s value proposition. Practical knowledge of food and beverage etiquette, service standards, and catering room configurations is essential. The role also requires physical capability to occasionally manage materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Office hours are from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with flexibility for weekend and after-hours commitments as necessitated by group business demands. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Maximize revenues in catering and group segments through account management and new business solicitation
  • Monitor and manage pre-event, event, and post-event details including room blocks, meeting space, special concessions, group history, contracts, event orders, and billing
  • Maintain strong knowledge of wedding, social, and corporate event planning specifics
  • Oversee or assist in capturing group business related to meeting room space and standalone groups
  • Proactively manage assigned target meeting room and group segments
  • Analyze market data using STAR Reports and calculate forecasts to meet budgeted revenues
  • Meet and greet clients, conduct property tours, promote hotel facilities and services
  • Supervise and attend event setups ensuring flawless execution
  • Coordinate with departments for accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Handle inquiries from clients through calls, booking platforms, site visits, and prospecting calls
  • Issue menus and pricing in coordination with Director of Sales, General Manager, and Food & Beverage Manager
