Job Description

deugro is a renowned family-owned company that was founded in 1924 in Frankfurt am Main and is the original company within the deugro group, focusing primarily on global project freight forwarding. Over the decades, deugro has evolved into a world leader and highly specialized logistics provider, handling complex large cargo projects safely, effectively, and efficiently. The company’s expertise lies in managing various cargo types including break bulk, out of gauge, dangerous goods, and oversized shipments which require specialized care and innovative handling methods. With affiliated entities that complement its core business, deugro also offers specialized transport engineering solutions, global ocean transportation, and a repertoire of tailored transportation assets, ensuring end-to-end logistics solutions for its clients.

Joining deugro means becoming part of a company that not only values high competence in freight forwarding but also focuses strongly on employee development, career longevity, and offering flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance. The culture at deugro embraces enthusiasm, passion, and creativity, encouraging team members to bring ideas to life through dedication, proactive behavior, and collaboration rather than relying solely on past experience or a resume. The company fosters an environment where individuals can flourish professionally while contributing to the ongoing success and innovation within the logistics industry.

The Sales and Business Development position based in The Woodlands (Houston), USA, offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Oil & Gas Supply Chain unit within deugro, where core responsibilities include supporting global implementation projects, managing change initiatives, and acting as a liaison between global sales teams and local operational entities. This role is crucial for translating contractual obligations from business awards into clearly defined service offerings that meet client needs. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring data integrity and quality within the Oil & Gas Supply Chain Management system and providing timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries and tenders.

This position demands a strategic thinker capable of leading and coordinating all business development activities related to key accounts and emerging clients. The individual will build and maintain strong relationships with developers, project owners, and OEMs, identifying new business opportunities while managing a robust pipeline to meet business turnover and profitability objectives. The role requires proactive communication within the sales team and with cross-functional units, meticulous tracking and reporting on market trends and competitor actions, and full compliance with relevant TSA, DOT, and Customs regulations.

Success in this role also means developing and implementing sales strategies aligned with the broader business plan, supporting pricing and tender management, and ensuring customer creditworthiness is diligently verified. The candidate must have strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects efficiently and exhibit creative problem-solving capabilities to foster revenue growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Travel for client visits as required will be an integral part of the job, emphasizing the need for flexibility and excellent interpersonal skills.

This position is in-person at deugro USA’s The Woodlands office, situated at 480 Wildwood Forest Drive, Suite 350, The Woodlands, TX. It promises a challenging and rewarding career path for professionals seeking to grow in the project freight forwarding and logistics industry with a global leader dedicated to ethical practices, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
