Job Description
Panera Bread is a prominent bakery-cafe franchise in the United States, well known for its commitment to quality food and excellent customer service. As a leader in the fast-casual dining industry, Panera focuses on fresh ingredients, delicious bakery items, and a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. The company has built a strong reputation by putting people first—both its customers and team members—which makes it an employer of choice for those who want to work in a supportive, growth-oriented environment. With a culture that values warmth, belonging, trust, and development, Panera ensures that every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute meaningfully to the team. Panera offers a variety of positions that help foster a positive work atmosphere and create a community where team members thrive and progress in their careers.
The Retail Team Member role at Panera, specifically the Salad and Sandwich Maker position, is a vital part of the company's operations. This role centers on preparing and assembling fresh salads, plating soups, and making sandwiches using real, high-quality ingredients rather than typical fast-food assembly processes. This is not just a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of a team that values accuracy, speed, and guest satisfaction alongside food safety and cleanliness. Panera offers competitive pay, ranging from $16.60 to $19.00 per hour, making this role financially rewarding for team members. The position includes full benefits for full-time employees such as medical, dental, vision, life, and even pet insurance, offering a comprehensive package that supports employees' wellbeing.
As a Salad and Sandwich Maker, you will be expected to maintain a positive, adaptable attitude while performing various assembly and cleaning duties to keep the restaurant running smoothly. You will work alongside a team that celebrates success, embraces fun, and prioritizes learning and growth. Your role will be critical in creating memorable guest experiences by delivering warm and friendly service and ensuring every order is crafted accurately and efficiently. Additionally, this role requires adherence to food safety regulations, completing cleaning tasks promptly, and helping set up the next shift for ongoing success. Panera offers flexible and reliable scheduling, including nights and weekends, to accommodate different lifestyles and availability.
Working at Panera means more than just a paycheck. Employees have access to paid vacation, sick time, holidays, tuition discounts, leadership development opportunities, team member assistance programs, and numerous perks designed to reward hard work. Whether you are seeking part-time work, a stepping-stone to greater responsibilities, or a long-term career in the food service industry, Panera provides a supportive environment to help you succeed every day and in every way. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with food, thrive in fast-paced settings, and value being part of a vibrant culture where the best thing about bread really is sharing it.
