Job Description
Interstates is a nationally recognized leader in the electrical, controls, automation, and operational technology (OT) industries, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work across the United States and internationally. Founded with a commitment to excellence and community impact, Interstates operates from its headquarters in Iowa and extends its influence to numerous construction sites nationwide. The company prides itself on a family-like culture where employees are valued as individuals and supported throughout their careers. Interstates encourages a work environment that balances personal and professional life through flexible schedules and fosters camaraderie through social events, charitable involvement, and team gatherings. This culture of care underpins the company's commitment to providing meaningful employment, professional growth opportunities, and a safe, respectful workplace.
As a Safety Technician on Interstates' National Traveling Construction Team, you will embark on a dynamic career path that offers both professional development and the chance to contribute meaningfully to project safety in the field. This role is designed for individuals stepping out of college or those looking to fast-track their career in safety within the construction and industrial sectors. You will be actively involved in promoting behavioral-based safety practices on remote construction sites, ensuring that job sites comply with safety regulations and that teams have the necessary resources to work safely. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed job-site safety audits, assisting with accident investigations, supporting first aid training and administration, and collaborating with safety managers to foster a culture of safety awareness and best practices.
This position requires 100% travel within the United States, providing an exciting opportunity to see various parts of the country while growing your expertise in occupational safety. Interstates supports its Safety Techs with thorough on-the-job training and mentorship, offering a foundation for a sustainable and rewarding career in safety management or engineering. The position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and are passionate about protecting workers' health and well-being. Joining Interstates means becoming part of a team that values your development and celebrates both individual and collective success. With a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and career coaching, Interstates invests in its employees' futures as much as its projects. This role not only advances safety on industrial job sites but also allows you to build lasting relationships with clients, colleagues, and community members. If you are ready to contribute to a safer work environment and grow within a supportive family-like company culture, Interstates offers the platform to take charge of your career and make a meaningful impact every day.
