Penske Truck Leasing\/Transportation Solutions is a leading global transportation company that specializes in delivering innovative transportation, logistics, and technology services designed to meet the evolving needs of businesses and individuals. Established with a commitment to excellence and customer success, the company operates numerous service shops, collision centers, and customer locations, particularly in the Northeast and the New York Metro area. Penske Truck Leasing prides itself on fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence, ensuring that associates and customers alike are supported through every transportation and logistics need. With headquarters in Reading, Pennsylvania, Penske continues to expand its impact on the transportation industry while maintaining a strong local presence through its regional operations. The company is recognized for offering competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, and a supportive work environment focused on growth and development.

The Safety Department at Penske Truck Leasing is currently looking for an experienced Transportation Safety Professional to join their team. This role functions independently while leveraging their expertise and initiative to drive safety and compliance across a wide customer base and company operations in the Northeast and New York Metro region. Serving as a Department of Transportation (DOT) Subject Matter Expert, the successful candidate will be essential in leading Penske's safety initiatives, ensuring regulatory adherence, and supporting both associates and customers through education, investigation, and compliance monitoring. The position offers a competitive salary range of $69,300 to $93,500, along with benefits including a company vehicle and laptop, reflecting the level of responsibility and travel requirements involved.

This position is ideal for a safety professional who possesses a deep understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations, has excellent management and public speaking skills, and can effectively interact with customers and teams. Key responsibilities include conducting facility safety inspections, managing OSHA and DOT compliance efforts, leading safety meetings for customers and company drivers, investigating accidents and injuries, and developing proactive safety initiatives. The role also requires the individual to support sales and leasing operations with safety expertise, analyze accident trends, and contribute to workers' compensation improvement plans. Due to the extensive regional travel involved, flexibility and availability, including occasional Saturday work, are critical components of the role. The safety professional will be based near or within the New York Metro area and will require the ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication and organizational skills.

Overall, this is a highly visible and impactful position within Penske Truck Leasing, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety culture of a prominent transportation company and to influence the wellbeing and compliance of hundreds of associates and customers. Candidates will benefit from Penske's dedication to employee growth and their comprehensive benefits, making this an attractive career opportunity for a motivated safety specialist ready to take on a leadership role in transportation safety.
