The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a premier destination in Merritt Island, Florida, featuring historically significant spacecraft, interactive exhibits, educational programs, shows, theaters, and guided tours. Delaware North prides itself on creating memorable experiences for guests while fostering a strong culture of growth and opportunity for its team members. The company operates with a family-owned ethos, emphasizing respect, inclusion, and support for employees' personal and professional development.
The Safety Manager position within Delaware North’s Parks and Resorts Division at the Kennedy Space Center represents a critical leadership role focused on ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of complex attractions, with special emphasis on theme park rides and the transition from construction to live operations. This full-time role, based in Merritt Island, Florida, carries an anticipated salary range of $68,300 to $92,200 annually, along with an annual bonus plan tied to company and individual performance. The Safety Manager will lead the strategic vision for the Safety Department, actively identifying potential risks, managing claims and audits, conducting risk assessments and investigations, and maintaining a strong safety culture during periods of organizational growth and change.
The Safety Manager will work closely with multiple stakeholders including Human Resources and corporate teams to analyze risk trends and implement preventive strategies. Key responsibilities include operational oversight of safety programs, regulatory compliance management, and supporting innovation and efficiency in guest experiences without compromising safety standards. The role demands a proactive leader with a transition-focused mindset and hands-on experience managing safety in dynamic, mechanically complex environments such as amusement rides and simulation-based attractions. Delaware North encourages individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and seek meaningful leadership responsibilities to apply.
This role also offers an excellent benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and exclusive discounts at affiliated hotels and resorts. Work shifts include days, evenings, holidays, and weekends, reflecting the operational needs of the visitor complex.
