The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager role at PWC is a pivotal position responsible for championing a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization. This forward-thinking and action-oriented role holds enterprise-wide influence, shaping how the Water Resources and Electric Utility divisions implement and maintain programs to prevent incidents and ensure regulatory compliance. The EHS Manager leads a small team of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) professionals and manages contractors who support safety, environmental programs, and regulatory compliance.

This role involves strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety and environmental programs aligned with organizational priorities. A significant part of the position is to build and nurture a strong safety culture that drives behavioral change and engages employees at all levels of the company. Compliance with numerous regulatory standards, including OSHA, EPA, NESC, NFPA, DOT, and FMCSA, is critical to the role.

The EHS Manager also plays a vital role in emergency preparedness and response planning, incident and spill response, annual compliance inspections, policy and procedure development, incident investigations with root cause analysis, and oversight of the Workers Compensation Program. By proactively collaborating with organizational leaders, the manager anticipates risks, identifies gaps in safety practices, and ensures consistent, sustainable, and measurable safety training and work practices are in place.

In addition to safety leadership, the role requires environmental compliance oversight. The EHS Manager evaluates shifting market, regulatory, and technological conditions to adapt processes and models that reduce hazardous and universal waste while enhancing operational value and efficiency. The position also drives sustainability initiatives, such as recycling and reuse programs, to minimize environmental impacts.

Performance management and analytics are integral to this role, where key performance indicators (KPIs) are established and monitored to measure program success. The manager analyzes trends and reports insights to executives to support data-driven decision making. Managing workers compensation administration and ensuring accurate OSHA logs, total recordable incident rates (TRIR), days away, restricted, or transferred (DART) rates, and incident rate calculations are crucial aspects. The role further includes ensuring all safety training requirements are met through innovative training methods, including computer-based learning.

This is a salaried, exempt position with a competitive compensation package ranging from $104,234 to $170,423 annually.
