The Safety Coordinator Assistant role at AIDT is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range from $62,163 to $89,284 per year, paid monthly. This position is instrumental in supporting AIDT's safety programs by researching, implementing, and maintaining safety procedures across all its facilities and the companies it supports. The incumbent will work with considerable independence, exercising decision-making authority to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance. Due to the nature of the position, extensive travel both in-state and out-of-state is required to conduct safety assessments and training across multiple project sites.

This role involves conducting comprehensive industrial safety assessments, including opening and closing conferences with management, performing facility walkthroughs, reviewing records, and preparing detailed written reports aligned with OSHA standards. The Safety Coordinator Assistant will also provide forklift training and assist in the design and construction of training aids used in safety education. Communication is a critical aspect of this position, requiring the ability to write technical reports, instruction manuals, and deliver effective safety training to staff, trainees, company officials, and the public.

Candidates for this position must have a solid foundation in occupational safety, demonstrated through a minimum of five years of safety experience in general industry or a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health from an accredited institution. Holding or the ability to become a Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Instructor is also essential. Preferred qualifications include certifications such as Overhead Crane Operator Training, Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training, Overhead Crane Inspector, and OSHA Outreach Trainer for General Industry.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Provide industrial safety assessments including opening and closing conferences with management and AIDT projects
  • conduct full safety facility walkthroughs
  • record reviews
  • prepare detailed written reports of findings and recommendations referenced to the applicable OSHA standards for AIDT facilities and companies that AIDT supports
  • provide forklift training
  • assist in ensuring AIDT is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety Association (OSHA) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries
  • assist in design, build, and support construction of training aids for supported projects
  • develop and write technical reports, findings, recommendations, and instruction manuals in areas of expertise
  • assist in providing guidance in safety related matters
  • conduct needs analysis to assist in training for AIDT projects
  • accept and manage the development and implementation of special projects and other work-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • assist management staff by assuming responsibilities for coordinating activities including planning, implementing, and directing new technology integration and acquisition of equipment for training
  • comply with all policies and procedures as set out in the AIDT Policy Manual
  • plan daily/weekly work schedule
  • manage AIDT resources within assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • coordinate multiple development and training projects concurrently
  • travel in and out of state as required to perform job duties
  • contribute to and extract from the information flow of the Institute using automated tools
  • comply with AIDT policy regarding attendance (regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job)
