The Protective Services Officer at OhioHealth is integral to this mission, providing security and safety services across hospital campuses and off-site locations. This role involves the operation and maintenance of weapons scanning equipment, enforcing hospital policies such as parking regulations, visitation rules, drug and tobacco prohibitions, and weapons restrictions to maintain a safe and secure environment. Officers are vigilant, continuously monitoring for any potential security threats by using closed-circuit television and engaging appropriately in patient, visitor, or staff confrontations to prevent escalation. The job requires readiness to respond to emergencies by following established protocols including alarm responses, evacuations, and disaster plans. Protective Services Officers often act as the first point of contact for visitors, offering guidance, wayfinding assistance, and other customer service functions that reflect OhioHealth's commitment to compassionate care. This position offers flexible work shifts totaling 36 hours weekly, with opportunities to float to different locations based on team needs, promoting teamwork and operational efficiency.
