This particular position is within the Hospitality Services department, specifically under OPS | Hospitality Svc PA Health Screeners. The role reports directly to the Supervisor of Safety and Security and is vital to providing essential services across multiple family hospitality, safety, and security areas of the UAMS campus. The Safety and Security Ambassadors serve in diverse locations including hospital information desks, waiting room desks for critical care units such as ICU and NICU, outpatient centers, emergency department entrances, and other designated points on campus. Ambassadors are responsible for staffing these stations and ensuring that they observe and promptly report any safety or security concerns to supervisors or the UAMS Police Department.

This regular, benefits-eligible position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong customer service orientation, computer proficiency, and the ability to work safely and responsibly according to UAMS policies. The role demands a proactive approach to maintaining safety standards while also delivering exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in security or hospitality-related customer service roles. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Provide staffing for multiple family hospitality and safety and security services provided by the department
  • Monitor assigned working areas for safety and security concerns and report to supervisors or police department
  • Staff hospital information desks, ICU waiting room desks, NICU desks, PRI information desks, OR waiting room, cart driving duties, discharge lobby desk, outside greeters, one day surgery desk, after-hours desk at WPRCI, emergency department, outpatient center desk, entrance points to multiple buildings
  • Interact professionally and assist the public with effective communication and customer service
  • Follow company policies and procedures to perform work safely
  • Maintain confidentiality and positive working relationships with co-workers and management
  • Adhere to core patient and family centered care principles
