The position available is for an Assessment Specialist primarily serving Multnomah County, with the successful candidate required to reside within the Portland metropolitan area by the hire date. This full-time role focuses on supporting early learning programs by conducting assessments and observations using specific evaluation tools such as the Environment Rating Scales (ERS) and Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS). The Assessment Specialist’s responsibilities include completing and scoring these assessments, compiling detailed reports, and providing professional learning and technical assistance (TA) to early childhood education professionals across Oregon. While assigned to a primary service area, the role necessitates statewide travel as well as occasional overnight, nighttime, and weekend work to meet the needs of early learning programs effectively. Bilingual candidates may also be called upon to translate and interpret in a culturally sensitive and responsive manner.
