The position of Project Support Specialist at Western Oregon University is an integral part of the Training and Resource Institute's (TRI) Center on Workforce and System Development. This role involves working collaboratively on a variety of projects that support early learning programs and administrative functions. Project Support Specialists play a key role in providing administrative support, delivering excellent customer service, and managing stipend and reimbursement processes. The position includes responsibilities such as organizing and supporting meetings, trainings, and conferences that are critical to the successful implementation of early childhood education initiatives. Specialists are expected to actively participate in project meetings, webinars, and workshops, contributing to discussions and fostering a collaborative work environment. Exceptional communication skills are essential, as the role requires effective interaction with diverse individuals and groups through various channels including phone, email, in-person, and virtual platforms such as Zoom.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or combination of relevant training, education, certification, and minimum of 5 years relevant professional work experience
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional experience in early childhood care and education or related fields
- Experience with diverse communities
- Ability to participate in meetings, trainings, and provide customer service across multiple platforms
- Willingness to provide bilingual services if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field or equivalent combination of childhood care and education training, education, certification, and relevant professional work experience
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional work experience in early childhood care and education (birth to age 12) or other relevant experience such as home visiting, CCR&R, human/social services, assessment work, or child care licensing
- Experience working or living with a variety of communities
Job Duties
- Attend and participate in and contribute to project meetings, webinars, communities of practice, workshops and other gatherings as needed
- Provide customer service via phone, email, in person, and zoom
- Gain and maintain a working knowledge of Preschool for All and Child Care Substitutes of Oregon's Subpool processes and procedures
- Effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds
- Assist with meeting, training, and conference planning support
- Provide administration support, customer service, and stipend and reimbursement processing
- Provide translation and interpretation in a culturally responsive manner for bilingual duties as needed
