The opportunity at hand is for the position of Child Care Educator Providers under the Child Care Substitutes of Oregon (CCSO) program, a division hosted by The Research Institute at Western Oregon University. This is a full-time role based in Portland, OR, involving hybrid remote work with expectations for travel within Multnomah County. The salary range is $56,783 to $69,840 annually. This program is designed to provide high-quality childcare coverage throughout Multnomah County by sending educators to registered and certified family childcare homes and centers, ensuring continuity during planned staff absences. Child Care Educators are integral to delivering best practices in early childhood education, engaging actively with children and families, collaborating with childcare teams, and engaging in ongoing professional development. Bilingual candidates will have additional responsibilities for translation and interpretation to aid communication within diverse communities. The role involves working closely with community early childhood education providers and the Multnomah County Project Coordinator for scheduling, communication, and professional growth. While primarily supporting Preschool for All (PFA) sites, educators may be called upon to provide substitute care across the county when needed.
