Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years total experience in finance leadership
  • 5+ years progressive hotel operational or finance experience
  • Experience with hotel operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and business partnering skills
  • Experience with owners, budgeting, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Experience in multiple hotels across countries or states
  • BA/BS in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years total experience in a leadership position in finance
  • 5+ years of progressive hotel operational or finance experience preferably with Hyatt
  • Experience with hotel operations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proven business partnering abilities
  • Experience working with hotel owners, preparing budgets, and collaborating with key stakeholders
  • International or multi-state experience across multiple hotel brands
  • BA/BS in business, accounting, finance, or related field
  • Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is highly advantageous

Job Duties

  • Ensure continuing professional development for directors and assistant directors of finance
  • Lead succession planning and top talent development initiatives across the region
  • Support recruitment efforts and assist in filling key finance vacancies
  • Guide disciplinary actions and control-related issues
  • Travel approximately 50% to hotels for leadership engagement, onboarding, owner relations, training, and issue resolution
  • Partner with SVPs of field operations and hotel leadership to assess financial performance and identify opportunities
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews and trend analyses
  • Establish and monitor performance targets aligned with business goals
  • Respond to ad hoc requests related to owner inquiries, new developments, or strategic initiatives
  • Lead the finance function for new hotel openings and conversions
  • Oversee pre-opening financial activities and determine appropriate finance structure
  • Ensure compliance with Hyatt’s accounting principles and financial policies
  • Advise directors of finance on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, capital planning, and cash management
  • Guide hotels in understanding and adhering to management agreement terms including performance tests, fee calculations, F&E reserves, and audit requirements
  • Work closely with functional experts in tax, legal, and operations to support hotel needs and ensure compliance
