Job Description

Blue Compass RV is a leading and rapidly expanding RV dealership based out of Fort Lauderdale, operating over 100 dealerships across the United States. Renowned for its dedication to customer satisfaction and employee well-being, Blue Compass RV stands out as a premier choice for both customers seeking quality recreational vehicles and associates pursuing a meaningful career in a supportive environment. The company prides itself on fostering a family-like culture where employees are valued, supported, and given ample opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. With a strong emphasis on training and development, Blue Compass RV invests significantly in its workforce, ensuring every team member is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to excel. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401(k), pet insurance, and more. These benefits illustrate the organization’s commitment to employee health, financial security, and work-life balance, which make it an attractive workplace for dedicated professionals.

The Detailer/Lot Porter hybrid role at Blue Compass RV is a unique and crucial position that combines the responsibilities of vehicle detailing with lot management. This position demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and a team-oriented mindset. As a Detailer, the role involves thoroughly cleaning and polishing RVs, using various tools such as vacuums, power washers, and polishing equipment to ensure every vehicle is showroom-ready and reflects the highest quality standards. This careful preparation helps the dealership leave an excellent first impression on customers, boosting both vehicle appeal and customer satisfaction.

Concurrently, as a Lot Porter, the role requires the safe and efficient movement of RVs around the dealership lot. This includes operating forklifts or tow vehicles to reposition RVs into display spots or service bays, maintaining a well-organized and neat lot, and supporting both the sales and service teams by staging vehicles and assisting with events or deliveries. The role also entails performing basic inspections and identifying any potential issues with the vehicles, ensuring that problems are flagged and addressed early.

This hybrid position offers an ideal opportunity for individuals with experience in auto detailing, fork-lift operation, or similar hands-on roles, though training is provided to develop necessary skills thoroughly. The role is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and contributing positively to a collaborative workplace. The job promises a competitive hourly wage of $16 and a regular five-day workweek, promoting a balanced lifestyle. Overall, Blue Compass RV’s Detailer/Lot Porter position is designed for candidates who take pride in their work, have a keen eye for detail, and want to be part of a company that appreciates their contributions and supports their career advancement.
