The role of Runner/Expo is key to the seamless operation between the kitchen and the dining area. As the runner and expo, you are the lynchpin ensuring that meals are delivered promptly and accurately to guests. This position involves constant movement, requiring quick thinking and strong organizational skills to manage food flow effectively. Your responsibilities include reading order tickets, finishing plates, running food, and communicating any guest requests to the appropriate team members. You will describe dishes being served, assist with retrieving additional items guests may need, and support servers with side work during slower periods. A critical aspect of this role is maintaining a clean and well-organized workstation that supports both the front-of-house and back-of-house teams. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
  • Describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
  • Retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
  • Assist servers in side work during down times
  • Be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
  • Maintain a clean workstation
