As a Runner/Expo, you play a pivotal role as the lynchpin between the kitchen and the guests. You will be in constant motion throughout your shift, coordinating closely with the chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that every plate is prepared correctly, finished on time, and delivered swiftly to the right guests. Your responsibilities will include describing the dishes to guests with enthusiasm and accuracy, answering any questions about the menu, and managing or communicating guest requests efficiently and professionally. This role requires excellent multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A successful Runner/Expo contributes significantly to the overall guest experience, ensuring satisfaction and repeat visits through timely and attentive service.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in food service
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical stamina to carry plates and stand for long periods
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate between kitchen staff and wait staff to ensure timely delivery of food
  • Monitor food quality and presentation before serving
  • Describe dishes and ingredients to guests
  • Handle special requests and communicate them effectively to the kitchen
  • Ensure that all orders are completed accurately
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the expo area
  • Communicate any issues or delays promptly to service staff
