The Runner position is a crucial role within this restaurant and beer garden, designed to maintain seamless operations and enhance the overall guest experience. The Runner works closely alongside servers, bartenders, and the management team to ensure that food and beverages are delivered promptly and accurately. This role is fast-paced and requires a team player who can anticipate the needs of guests as well as their colleagues. The Runner is responsible for supporting the front-of-house team by maintaining clean and organized tables, restocking service stations, assisting with bussing duties, and contributing to the setup and breakdown of service areas. This position demands a sharp attention to detail, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude toward ensuring smooth service flow.

In addition to direct guest service, the Runner plays a key role in supporting sanitation, safety, and alcohol service policies to protect both guests and team members. The physical demands of the job include standing and walking for long periods, lifting and carrying trays or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds, and managing multiple plates or trays with coordination and balance. Flexibility is required to handle evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs.

While prior experience in high-volume restaurants is preferred, it is not mandatory. Job Requirements

  • Stand and walk for the entire duration of the shift
  • Frequently reach, bend, lift, carry, and wipe
  • Lift and carry trays or boxes weighing up to 50 lbs for short distances
  • Use hands and arms to carry dishes, polish glassware, and reset tables
  • Maintain balance and coordination while carrying multiple plates or trays
  • Hear and communicate clearly in a busy environment
  • Work on your feet for extended periods, including nights and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English verbal and written
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent teamwork, organization, and customer service skills
  • Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred but not required
  • TIPS/TAMS and Food Handler certifications preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
