The Runner position falls within the operations department and reports directly to the Event Manager. This hourly, non-exempt role is essential to the smooth functioning of live events at venues such as Van Andel Arena and Acrisure Amphitheatre in Grand Rapids, MI. Runners play a vital role in supporting production and event managers by ensuring timely transportation of crew members to various locations including airports, hotels, and local stores before, during, and after events. This position requires excellent coordination skills, flexibility, and an ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of live events.

Key responsibilities include purchasing necessary materials from local stores; facilitating crew meal orders with area restaurants; coordinating laundry pickups with approved vendors; cash reconciliation; and performing miscellaneous tasks as needed. Runners must possess a good driving record and a valid, active driver's license. They are expected to be at least 21 years old and demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and a positive attitude. Knowledge of local areas, including restaurants and stores, along with the capability to work independently with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, are critical for success in this role.

Additional requirements include the ability to use Microsoft Office proficiently, communicate effectively in English, and pass a background and motor vehicle check. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for a four-year degree in a telecommunications-related field. Due to the nature of events, working hours may be long and flexible, and the working conditions include exposure to varying weather and temperatures onsite.
