Job Description
Cinepolis USA is a leading luxury cinema exhibitor known for providing an enhanced movie-going experience through its unique theater concepts, including 'Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas' and 'Movie House & Eatery.' Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the company operates 26 luxury and premium theaters across several key states such as California, Florida, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas, Maryland, and Ohio, with ambitious plans for further expansion. As part of the globally recognized Cinepolis International, the largest movie theater exhibitor worldwide, Cinepolis USA is committed to innovation, film, and hospitality excellence, setting new standards in the cinema industry.
This position is a non-exempt, full-time role within the Operations department, located in the theater, and reports directly to the General Manager. The company prioritizes its team members as their most valuable asset, offering generous employee discounts on movie tickets, food, and nonalcoholic beverages, along with milestone gifts for work anniversaries.
The role of a Runner at Cinepolis USA is critical in ensuring the seamless delivery of excellent service that enriches the guest experience. Runners are the integral connection between food preparation and guest satisfaction, focusing primarily on delivering food and drinks accurately and promptly to guests. Their role extends beyond delivery; they actively contribute to creating a warm and hospitable environment that encourages repeat visits. Attention to detail, enthusiasm, and exceptional hospitality skills distinguish this position and set Cinepolis' dining experience apart from competitors.
Runners work closely with the expediter to synchronize the delivery of orders, ensuring that multiple food items reach guests simultaneously and maintain high-quality standards. They embody the company's values of commitment and integrity by verifying that orders are correct and complete and by maintaining clear communication with kitchen staff, expediters, and supervisors as needed. This role also involves engaging guests by guiding them through the menu, suggesting promotional items or add-ons, and effectively upselling to enhance the customer experience.
In addition to food delivery, Runners play a role in maintaining the cleanliness of auditoriums by removing dishes and trash, reporting any found items to managers, and assisting team members in various capacities such as ticket scanning, restroom checks, and concession or box office operations. Handling guest complaints and requests tactfully and escalating unresolved issues to the appropriate resources is also a vital part of the job. Additionally, Runners monitor movie projection issues and communicate promptly with management to ensure a smooth cinema experience.
The position demands flexibility, with availability required for nights, holidays, and weekends to meet the dynamic needs of the business. Physical demands include walking, bending, standing for extended periods, and occasionally lifting weights up to 50 pounds with assistance. Noise levels typical of cinema environments and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, ever-changing setting are part of the daily work environment.
Overall, the Runner position at Cinepolis USA is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and take pride in delivering outstanding service in a luxury cinema environment. The company’s supportive culture, comprehensive training, and commitment to employee development make this a rewarding opportunity for those seeking a career in the entertainment and service industry.
