The role of Runner is an essential position within the Operations Department, reporting directly to the Event Manager. This hourly, non-exempt position plays a critical supporting role during live events, primarily at Van Andel Arena and Acrisure Amphitheatre in Grand Rapids, MI. Runners assist the Production and Event Managers by providing vital logistic and operational support throughout the event lifecycle, from pre-show preparations to post-show activities. Responsibilities include transporting crew members, managing purchases of necessary supplies from local stores, coordinating meal orders with restaurants, and facilitating laundry pickups with approved vendors.
Runners must navigate diverse tasks with energy and enthusiasm, demonstrating strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. The position requires flexibility to work long hours and reliability to handle cash reconciliation and other miscellaneous duties as needed. Communication skills are important as Runners coordinate with various stakeholders during events. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- background and motor vehicle check required
- good driving record and fully insured with active driver’s license
- at least 21 years of age
- highly flexible and able to work long hours
- knowledge of surrounding areas including restaurants and local stores
- ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
- reliable and responsible with a positive attitude
- discretion about work
- effective written and verbal communication in English
- ability to use standard office equipment
- proficient in Microsoft Office

Job Duties
- support the production and event managers at Van Andel Arena and Acrisure Amphitheatre in Grand Rapids, MI
- transportation of crew to and from airports, hotels, stores, etc. before, during and after shows
- purchasing various products/materials required at local stores including Home Depot, Lowes, Target, Walmart, Wholefoods, Guitar Center
- facilitating crew meal orders with local restaurants
- coordinating laundry pickups with the tour at approved vendors
- cash reconciliation
- miscellaneous work on an as needed basis
