The role of Runner - #13 Gage (U) at El Super is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about supporting store operations, especially in the product department, and assisting customers. This role is fundamentally about enhancing the shopping experience through outstanding service and meticulous store maintenance. The Runner helps keep the store environment clean, safe, and efficient. Key responsibilities include properly bagging groceries, assisting customers with carrying purchases, maintaining store carts, conducting price checks, and supporting check stand upkeep. The Runner also manages waste removal around the parking area, ensuring the exterior reflects the store’s high standards.
This position requires strong physical ability since it involves frequent lifting of up to 45 pounds and occasional lifting of 60 pounds, along with tasks that require standing, walking, and kneeling in a fast-paced grocery store setting. Attention to detail and the ability to comprehend instructions, product labels, and pricing codes are essential. Effective communication skills for customer and team interactions are highly valued. The role also encourages candidates to have basic PC and Outlook skills and, ideally, a retail management certificate. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods
- Strong customer service skills
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced grocery store environment
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and product labels

Job Duties
- Assist in maintaining the store, particularly in the product department
